A Farewell

After long reflection and asking hard questions of the heart, WomanSpirit Center, host to life-giving and life saving experiences for so many, will close on July 31, 2016.  To highlight its story, we hope you will be able to join us at a Commencement Celebration on July 10 from 4 - 6:30 PM at Mercer Slough Community Building, 1625 118th Ave. SE, Bellevue, WA.

WomanSpirit Center was founded on the conviction that “the transformation of the world depends on strengthening the inner spirit.”  Our mission statement, "WomanSpirit Center nurtures spiritual growth to ignite positive change one woman at a time", reflects that conviction. The Center began in 1998 and found its home in 1999 at a beautiful setting on Cougar Mountain in Issaquah, WA, with the generous sponsorship of the Sisters of Providence.

As the Sisters' start-up sponsorship concluded in 2006, the leadership of WomanSpirit Center spent a year exploring possibilities, leading to the formation of the WomanSpirit Center  LLC organization in 2007.  The Center relocated to its present location in Bellefield Office Park near the natural, contemplative setting of the Mercer Slough.

Throughout its history of 18 years, thousands of persons have crossed the threshold. The Center’s rich history holds the stories of both women and men in the midst of their inner journeys.  These give witness to the need to respect and honor each individual. Together we can embrace the unique spirit of one another, and be receptive to the gifts they bring. Now, in 2016, we celebrate that this spirit within is continuing to act, transform, and guide all of us into the future.

We, who worked at WomanSpirit Center, experienced the sharing with so many. It expanded our hearts and helped us to grow in our own lives. We continued to see new opportunities that we would never have imagined.  What a source of joy! It is something for which we will always be grateful.

The celebration on July the 10th will highlight the Center’s story.  The short program will begin at 4 pm.  We hope you can join us.
